A Letter from Ms. Wendy...

In the midst of our change, I want to take just a few lines to share with you what I think the next year will look and feel like for the youth ministry. During Christ’s ministry, He was focused on quality more than quantity – on true religion more than entertainment. Absolute truth is the cornerstone... Other core values include community, fellowship, and authenticity. As demonstrated in the parable of the soils, There are some tricks and techniques that yield significant results short-term, but we should be more concerned with cultivating roots. I believe following Christ’s example will still effectively reach our youth of today. There are no short cuts. So, with everything we do in the next year, this will be the way we go about things. I will share more as the planning for next year becomes more concrete. But, for now generally speaking, the practical outcomes of this idea are classes and unique events created to foster community and change – and FUN. We want to minister to youth at every level. To do this we will need volunteers for everything from driving to chaperoning lock-ins to teaching and mentoring. I have great expectations of what God will do in the months and years to come and can’t wait to get into full swing. I trust that many of you will take part in it. There are no small roles. Let's pray God’s best for us during this next year and I look forward to ministering with you during the next few years. Wendy Martinie

About our youth ...

Prayer Mentor Program - We are now recruiting adults who will commit themselves to pray for and maintain contact with our Jr. & Sr. High for the purposes of keeping them connected and promoting their spiritual growth. We need both men and women for this task. Email, call, or see Wendy (me) if you are interested. You don't have to be a youth parent to do this. Thank you to those who have volunteered!

Youth Activities Committee - Keep your eyes open for more info on this committee that will be starting up SOON! We want everyone's ideas about where the youth group is headed.

Children's Info - We are gathering information on our children for the purposes of classroom planning and communication. The information we need about our youth include: First & Last Name, Birthday (m/d/y), Grade, Parent Email. Please take the time to submit that to me if you haven't already. The information will be shared with teachers only as necessary.

Every Sunday Evening - Sunday night classes for elementary-ages and Jr. & Sr. High at 5:30pm! Right now, we're hanging out and studying how to handle money God's way.

Wednesday night dinner and classes - Dinner at 6pm. Classes for all youth at 6:45pm focusing on Bible memory.

From Today's Proverb (28) 1.The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, But the righteous are bold as a lion.
2.By the transgression of a land many are its princes, But by a man of understanding and knowledge, so it endures.
3.A poor man who oppresses the lowly Is like a driving rain which leaves no food.
4.Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, But those who keep the law strive with them.
5.Evil men do not understand justice, But those who seek the LORD understand all things.
6.Better is the poor who walks in his integrity Than he who is crooked  though he be rich.
7.He who keeps the law is a discerning son, But he who is a companion of gluttons humiliates his father.
